VYLQORA is a technology consulting and digital solutions company. We help organizations modernize technology, activate data and AI, strengthen infrastructure and security, and build scalable digital capabilities.

Our signature practice is Master Data Management — implementation, migration and programme rescue on Reltio and Informatica MDM — with cloud, data engineering, applied AI, application development, integration and managed services around it.

Where are you based, and do you work with clients outside India?

Accepted Answer

We are headquartered in Faridabad, Haryana, India, and we work with clients internationally. Most of our delivery is remote, which is normal for this kind of work. Time zones matter more than distance. India overlaps comfortably with the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific; for North America we schedule early-morning IST calls and run asynchronous handovers for the rest.

How big is your team?

Accepted Answer

We will tell you exactly who would work on your engagement, by name and role, in the proposal — including where we would bring in a specialist for a specific phase. We would rather be precise about the team you actually get than quote a headcount number that says nothing about who turns up.

What makes you different from a larger consultancy?

Accepted Answer

The person who scopes your engagement is the person doing the work. There is no partner-sells, junior-delivers gap. We are also independent on platform choice — we hold no reseller margin and take no vendor commission, so a recommendation to do less costs us the same as a recommendation to do more.

Do you have case studies or client references?

Accepted Answer

We do not publish client names, logos or case studies that we do not have written permission to share, and we do not publish anonymised metrics we cannot evidence. In a live commercial conversation we can discuss relevant experience in detail, and where a client has agreed, arrange a reference call. What you will not find on this website is proof we cannot stand behind.

Are you a Reltio or Informatica partner?

Accepted Answer

No. We implement, migrate and support both platforms, and we name them to describe the technologies we work on. We do not claim partnership, certification or endorsement from either vendor, and we would not want you to infer one. If that status changes, we will say so explicitly and you will be able to verify it with the vendor.

What is master data management, in plain terms?

Accepted Answer

It is the discipline of making one version of your critical business entities — customer, product, supplier, employee — the version the whole organization uses, instead of each system holding its own. The technical work is matching duplicate records, deciding which source wins for each attribute, and publishing a single record downstream. The hard part is agreeing who owns which fact, which is a governance question rather than a technical one.

Why do MDM programmes fail?

Accepted Answer

Rarely on platform capability. They fail on four decisions taken early and quietly: the golden record defined by whichever source loaded first rather than by what the business consumes; the trust hierarchy configured as a technical setting instead of an ownership agreement; match rules shipped on vendor defaults without measured precision and recall; and a stewardship queue sized to the configuration rather than to the team that has to clear it. Each of those is cheap to get right at the start and expensive to unwind afterwards.

Should we choose Reltio or Informatica?

Accepted Answer

It depends on three things, and none of them is the feature comparison: how many domains you need to master and how they relate; whether you need real-time API consumption or batch is sufficient; and what your team can realistically operate after we leave. Broadly, Reltio suits organizations wanting a cloud-native, API-first platform with a graph view of relationships. Informatica suits complex estates with established governance and demanding match requirements, particularly where a large on-premises footprint already exists. We offer a Platform Selection Review for exactly this decision, and we take no commission from either vendor.

Question 10

What is an MDM Health Check?

Accepted Answer

A fixed-price, two to three week independent review of a live MDM implementation. We look at the data model, match rules, survivorship configuration, stewardship workload, integration and governance gaps, then give you prioritised findings and a sequenced remediation roadmap. You keep the findings whether or not we do the remediation work, and the roadmap is written so any partner could execute it — including your current one.

Our MDM is already live but the business will not use it. Can that be fixed?

Accepted Answer

Usually, yes. When a business ignores the golden record it is almost always because of configuration decisions rather than platform limitations — over-merging that destroyed confidence, survivorship set per record instead of per attribute, or a definition nobody outside IT agreed to. Those are correctable. What is not correctable by a technology project is an absent data owner or a business that was never consulted, and if that is what we find we will say so rather than sell you a remediation phase.

How do you tune match rules?

Accepted Answer

Against a labelled sample. We assemble a set of record pairs a human has judged as matches or non-matches, then measure precision and recall against it before and after tuning. Without that, you have opinions about match quality rather than evidence. We report both numbers, because over-matching and under-matching fail in different ways and you should know which risk you are carrying.

Can you migrate us from Informatica MDM to Reltio?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and the important point is that a migration is not a translation. The data model and match strategy have to be reconsidered for the target platform; porting the existing configuration directly carries across the constraints of the platform you are leaving. We plan migrations in waves with defined exit criteria, so each wave can be validated before the next begins.

How long does an MDM implementation take?

Accepted Answer

For a single domain with a small number of source systems, a first production release is typically a few months. Multi-domain programmes with complex hierarchies and many sources run considerably longer. We would rather sequence it so something useful goes live early than quote a single date for a large programme. Any specific timeline we give you follows an assessment of your actual estate, not a template.

Do you provide ongoing MDM support after go-live?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide L1 to L3 production support under agreed SLAs, covering incident and problem management, data quality monitoring, platform monitoring, enhancement delivery and release management. Support is structured around two loops: restoring service against the SLA, and removing the recurring causes so the volume falls over time.

What is a golden record, and what is Customer 360?

Accepted Answer

A golden record is the single, resolved version of an entity — one customer, assembled from every system that holds part of them, with a decision made about which source is authoritative for each attribute. Customer 360 is what you build on top: a complete view of that customer including relationships, hierarchies, interactions and history. The 360 view is only as reliable as the golden record beneath it, which is why we start there.

Our AI pilot works but will not deploy. What is going wrong?

Accepted Answer

Usually the data, not the model. The pilot ran on a curated extract prepared by someone who understood the data; production runs against the estate as it actually is — the same entity appearing several times, terms defined differently by each function, and no owner when a definition changes. Analytics tolerated that ambiguity for years because a human sat between the number and the decision. Automation removes that person, so the caveat has nowhere to live.

Do we need MDM before we can do AI?

Accepted Answer

Not always, and we will tell you when you do not. It depends on whether the specific use case depends on resolved entities and agreed definitions. A document-processing assistant may need very little master data. A churn model, a next-best-action engine or anything that acts per customer needs entities resolved, or it is computing on fragments. What AI work do you actually do?

Generative and agentic AI, enterprise copilots and knowledge assistants, retrieval-augmented generation, intelligent document processing, and automation of specific high-friction workflows. We also do the unglamorous part that determines whether any of it reaches production: data readiness, evaluation, and designing human oversight at the point where the system acts.

How do you approach AI governance?

Accepted Answer

By designing oversight into the workflow rather than adding a policy afterwards. That means being explicit about where a model is not reliable enough to act autonomously, keeping a human in the loop at the point of action, and building evaluation in from the start so you can tell whether behaviour has drifted. We will also tell you plainly where AI is not the right tool for the problem you have described.

Can you work with our existing data platform?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work across warehouses, lakes and lakehouse architectures, and integrate with the platforms you already run rather than proposing a replacement as a first move. Replacing a data platform is occasionally the right answer, but it should follow an assessment, not precede one.

What is data governance, and do we need a formal programme?

Accepted Answer

Governance is deciding who owns which data, what the definitions are, how quality is measured and what happens when something changes. It is mostly organizational rather than technical. You do not necessarily need a large formal programme. You do need named owners, agreed definitions for the entities that matter, and a measured quality baseline. We can help you establish the minimum that actually works and grow from there.

What kind of applications do you build?

Accepted Answer

Custom web and enterprise applications, SaaS products, internal platforms, APIs and integrations. We also modernize existing applications, usually by carving capability out of a monolith incrementally rather than attempting a rewrite the business cannot absorb. We engineer for the decade after go-live: clear domain boundaries, tested code, documented interfaces and deployment automation.

Our cloud migration finished and the bill doubled. Why?

Accepted Answer

Three things, usually in this order: nothing was resized, so workloads sized for on-premises peak load now run at that specification on a meter; non-production environments never turn off; and storage — snapshots, backups, orphaned disks — accumulates because nobody owns the total. Underneath all three is a governance gap the migration created and nobody closed. Capacity used to be a procurement decision reviewed by someone accountable for budget; in cloud it became a deployment decision made continuously by engineers with no visibility of cost.

Do you work with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud?

Accepted Answer

Our deepest cloud experience is Microsoft Azure, and that is where we would claim the most depth. We work with other providers, and in a multi-cloud or migration-assessment context we will give you an honest read on where our expertise is strongest. If a piece of work genuinely needs deeper specialist knowledge than we have, we will say so rather than learn on your budget.

What do your managed services cover?

Accepted Answer

L1, L2 and L3 support, incident and request management, problem management with root-cause removal, change and release management, infrastructure and application monitoring, and SLA and KPI reporting. Reporting is written for the business rather than the service desk: what broke, what it cost in availability, what was permanently fixed, and what is scheduled next.

How do you handle integration between systems?

Accepted Answer

API-led and event-driven where it suits, batch where that is genuinely sufficient. We treat APIs as products — versioned, documented, observable — so the estate becomes composable rather than progressively entangled. One deliberate constraint: we keep MDM out of the integration business. It is a mastering system, not an enterprise service bus, and overloading it couples the whole estate to it.

How do engagements usually start?

Accepted Answer

Most start with a short, fixed-price assessment — an MDM Health Check, a Data Readiness for AI assessment, or a Platform Selection Review. Each runs two to three weeks with a defined scope and a written outcome. A paid assessment de-risks your first commitment, gives you something usable whether or not we continue, and means neither side is guessing about scope when the larger conversation happens.

Advisory and consulting; scoped project delivery against agreed outcomes and milestones; dedicated engineering teams embedded alongside yours; managed services under defined SLAs; and time-boxed innovation work for proofs of concept and MVPs. We adapt the model to your maturity and scope rather than fitting you to a fixed template.

How do you price work?

Accepted Answer

Fixed price for assessments and well-defined scopes; day rate or monthly rate for dedicated capacity and managed services. Which is appropriate depends on how well the scope can be defined up front. We would rather propose a fixed price for a smaller, clearly defined phase than a large fixed price built on assumptions neither side can test yet.

Who owns the intellectual property in what you build?

Accepted Answer

Ownership is set out in the engagement contract, and in most client engagements the deliverables are owned by the client on payment. We do not assert rights beyond what the contract grants. Where we bring pre-existing tooling or frameworks, we identify them explicitly so there is no ambiguity later.

How do you handle our data and credentials?

Accepted Answer

We access only what the task requires, for as long as it requires it. We work in your environment wherever possible rather than moving data into ours, and we use masked, synthetic or subset data for development and testing whenever that is workable. Credentials are never stored in source code, tickets or documentation. We follow your data protection instructions, retention rules and residency requirements, and we ask when they are unclear rather than assuming. This is set out in full in our Code of Conduct.

Will we work with the same people throughout?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as far as we can commit to it. Continuity is one of the practical advantages of working with a specialist firm rather than a large one, and we will tell you in the proposal exactly who is allocated. If a change is unavoidable, you will hear it from us before it happens rather than discovering it in a status meeting.

What happens if a project goes off track?

Accepted Answer

You hear about it early. We report progress honestly, including delays, defects and our own mistakes, and we raise problems while they can still be fixed rather than at the point they become unavoidable. Any change to scope, timeline or cost is raised in writing and agreed before work proceeds. We would rather have an uncomfortable conversation in week three than an unrecoverable one in month five.

Sometimes. A short assessment or a well-defined piece of specialist work is a reasonable way to start, and several of our engagement types are deliberately small. What we will not do is take on work we are not the right team for. If your requirement would be better served by a different kind of firm, we will tell you and, where we can, point you somewhere sensible.

Can you work as a subcontractor to another consultancy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work on partner paper, inside partner delivery teams, under their delivery lead — particularly where a firm has sold MDM work and needs specialist capacity. We treat the end client's confidentiality exactly as we would our own, and we do not approach a partner's client directly.
